K-Conjog – Set Your Spirit Freak (April 20th)

Fabrizio’s work as K-Conjog is a better listen than it is described, but we can say it’s the perfect new addition to the Abandon Building Family, and you’re going to love it. The album “Set Your Spirit Freak” is a combination of layered guitars and keyboards with real time drumming and programming, sometimes surrounded by the sounds of Nature. It’s heavy, and playful, and inspiring, and most of all beautiful. Here try a song.

Origamibiro – Shakkei Remixes CD (May 21st)

Origamibiro’s Shakkei is making people smile all over the world, they’re welcomed by the intriguing techniques the band uses to create / perform their music and video plethora. We’re thankful to have brought Shakkei up into new forms with help from a ton of Dope musicians from planet Earth. Remixing songs from the original album are nun other than, Umin, Calika, Melodium, Upwards Arrows, The Remote Viewer, Last Man On Mars, Proem, Offthesky, Set In Sand, Low In The Sky, Ghost and Tape, Plaid, Phylum Sinter, Leafcutter John, Aus, and ISAN. Whelp, abandonbuilding’s turning 8 this year, and in celebration, everything is going to happen, and it means everything. For starters, ACrawlsPace Music, an under the ground offspring of ABR, is in full effect as a completely FREE label, with releases from Set In Sand, Post Falls, Still Current, Soil And Water, Crillix, Wolke, DoF, and a compilation to kick it off on February 21st.

Umin’s Umbr is out and about on CD. Kevin Poole creates some of the most complex dissonant melodic randomness out of a ukulele that anyone has ever heard. It’s some of our favorite music ever! And if that weren’t enough, when he get’s together with Nic Power’s throwing voices, the Umin morphs into something almost new altogether. There’s one example of this on Umbr, think you can hear it down there on the player to the right Col (Picture Of Everything You Lost). Also try some of it out on his soundcloud.

In April we’ll begin putting out some new CD’s. The first one will be a new album from Melodium, titled Coloribus, carrying 20 new inspiring songs. We’ve had a lot of fun playing this around the building. It’s a good one to listen to while doing and/or not doing. We’ll be sharing an MP3 or two in a month or so, so check back.

We here at abandon building make attempts at exploring the intention of being soft believers in the great nothing, and spend a little X amount of time doing. It’s fun, anyone will do it, and more and more beings happen upon these intuitions with the passing of each illusive moment. We’re happy to share this stuff with you, and even happier that you’re happy we’re happy you’re happy, because it shows and shines and shone on signs who read into the nature of being, and contribute to the one love bath.

Symbolic Interaction’s The Silence Was Warm Vol 3 compilation, has just been released and is available all over. The comp is 2 discs worth of eclectic sounds from a lot of different bands including Set In Sand, Umin, Flotel, Maps And Diagrams, and Melodium.

>New Structures

The Building being Unfurbished at the moment, is looking toward a lovely present in the not too distant future, Umin will be rereleasing the revised Umbr on CD. Umin tends to layer the ukelele in ways that create weird skittering environments with all kinds of little fragments of melody and dissonance dancing around the perimeter and showing off in the center of the circle. It’s really exciting to help share this will all of you, it’s truly great learning music.

Crillix will be turning up a precious gem soonish this year. Many of you may not know of his music from the compilations, if you have heard it and love it, then you’re in for a treat… Well i suppose either way we’re all in for a treat, because this music catches dreams from every climate of the soundscape and releases them into your auric field, tickling under the surface and telling stories of many realms histories and present.

>Set In Sand – RETURN!

Set In Sand’s new album “Return” is out on November 22, available on CD from Symbolic Interaction (Japan). We’ll post the details when we get them. The album is an 11 track gem made mostly from sampling a music box. Listen to it!

The new full length from DoF is OUT NOW and can be purchased through the website or from P*DIS Records (Japan). The album is a wonderful return to DoF’s original more instrumental feel, while keeping up the experimental evolution. Listen to it!

In August we’ll be releasing a new album from Set In Sand called Mid Summer At The Winters… It’s a full length album of new tracks, all taken from a single days recording out on a friends farm, with all the insects and wildlife punching in, and then edited at home mostly in kentucky, some in colorado. we’ll post some listenables soon.

>          Hello, join us here at the new AbandonBuilding / ACrawlsPace. We’ve thrown a little paint there and here and built some weird sculptures from broken appliances and sawdust, then invited a lot of new music to fill up these refurbished rooms.

>          Firstly relating with the current resonant climate of this domain, we’re going to be doing some limited releases, and when we do they will come out on a leg of this building called ACrawlsPace.
The ACrawlsPace catalog should be introducing a lot of vibrant new musical projects to the already endless ocean of sounds, as well as sharing more quaint collections from our favorites. (the stuff that changes us in ways that feels like growth) Another quite interesting aspect of ACrawlsPace is in the packaging, which should stray away from the standards previously explored on earth up to this point in time.

>          And there’s a slew of Set in Sand goodies on the way. First is a short instrumental piece of experimental ambient works called Remembering Everything Seams Together, released in a canvas package with random stitches sewn into it. The music is far removed from the SIS we’ve loved for so long, and the soothing thing is, we love it just the same.

>          SIS REST will be followed then by a more theatrical vocal oriented full length, Doubtfull Glass Of Water. DGOW explores the world of a shadow attempting to quench his thirst in reaching for a drink of water on the table, half empty, and half full. Its hand passes through in January 09.

>          Color Cassette (offthesky/set in sand) has just released an energetic double 3″ cd on Mobeer, a limited subcompartment of Moteer. They will also be offering up a collection of slower more relaxed vocal material later this year from Autres Directions, called Forever Sparrow.

>          And finally but not lastly, the shoots and giggles real life serious voiceable trio of Flowtation Addvice shares their sounds with the world in a collection of 8 stories called Terrain Clouds.
Something to do with a cloud of brain compartments in the head of a goat. TC will be Co-released with Japanese label Hue sometime in the beginning of 2012.
